Photometric Observations of Supernovae 2000 E , 2001
نویسنده
چکیده
CCD BV RI photometry is presented for two type Ia supernovae 2000E and 2001V, for SN Ib 2001B and SN II-P 2001X. The parameters of light curves and absolute magnitudes at maximum light are estimated. It is shown that all four supernovae are typical for their classes considering the shape of their light curves and maximum luminosity.

Dust versus Supernova Cosmology
Here we present some critical discussions about the systematic uncertainty by dust extinction in the recent cosmological results of high-redshift Type Ia supernovae. First we argue that the currently available data do not robustly exclude the cosmologically significant extinction either by the reddening check or the dispersion argument because of the observational uncertainties, even in the cas...
متن کاملConstraints on Photometric Calibration from Observations of High-Redshift Type Ia Supernovae
The good match of the type Ia supernova (SNIa) Hubble Diagram to the prediction of a not-unreasonable cosmological world model shows that measurements of standard stars and their comparison with point sources down to m = 25 mag is good to better than ±0.5 mag over an 11 mag range. It also shows that the true spectral energy distribution (SED) shapes of standard stars are known to better than ±0...
متن کاملDetecting the progenitors of core collapse supernovae
The masses and the evolutionary states of the progenitors of corecollapse supernovae are not well constrained by direct observations. Stellar evolution theory generally predicts that massive stars with initial masses less than about 30M⊙ should undergo core-collapse when they are cool M-type supergiants. However the only two detections of a SN progenitor before explosion are SN1987A and SN1993J...

UBV photometric observations of Ap star Cyg V1584 have been presented. To find the rotational period of the star, a sinusoidal wave function has been fitted to the noramal points of UBV filters. Assuming that a circular hot spot located at the magnetic pole of the star is responsible for the observed light variations, both physical an geometrical parameters of the spot have been determined. F...
متن کاملHigh Redshift Supernovae in the Hubble Deep Field
Two supernovae detected in the Hubble Deep Field (HDF) using the original December 1995 epoch and data from a shorter (63000 s in F814W) December 1997 visit with HST are discussed. The supernovae (SNe) are both associated with distinct galaxies at redshifts of 0.95 (spectroscopic) from Cohen et al. (1996) and 1.32 (photometric) from the work of Fernández-Soto, Lanzetta, & Yahil (1998). These re...
